DevFest Cordillera - Baguio 2013 - Speakers

We have invited speakers from Baguio and Manila to share their knowledge in the different Google Developer Technologies. Get to know them in advance.

Mobile


Harries Hernandez

Graduated from Saint Louis University on 2011, he immediately started his career as a Web Developer and Search Engine Optimizer at Magic Webs. While at Magic Webs, he was able to create and optimize different websites using PHP. After his time at Magic Webs, he was employed at IMA Management and Technology as a Software Developer where he was able to develop Android Applications among others. Besides development, he has interests in conducting seminars, playing computer games, writing articles and watching series.

Jomar Tigcal

Jomar Tigcal is an Android developer at Stratpoint Technologies, Inc. and one of the community managers for GDG Philippines. On his free time, he is developing personal applications using Android, other Google technologies, and other APIs, like Sweldong Pinoy.

Neil Torres

Neil Torres is a designer and an illustrator. He currently works as a UI/UX designer in Rekursv Inc., a bootstrapped startup founded in Silicon Valley, California. He crafts beautiful user experiences and is involved with user research, prototyping, branding, and overall visual design of cool mobile apps and websites. Neil loves to work on awesome design projects that he believes in, collaborations, and also loves to (over)share what he does in various workshops and talks.

Brian Tan Seng

Brian is co-founder of 98Labs Inc. He currently oversees research and development teams in the company. His interests include programming, Agile methods, UX, data analysis, mountaineering and ultra marathons.

Edge Dalmacio

Edge Dalmacio is a Senior Software Engineer and Certified Scrum Master at Orange and Bronze Software Labs, Inc. His focus is supporting developers build amazing apps as Chief Systems Designer for O&B's top financial services client. He has a BS in Computer Science from De La Salle University Manila and business units from Stanford Continuing Studies. He is an active contributor to the open source community being the author of PHISIX API and having submitted enhancements to jPOS and Spring Integration Extensions. He is also a co-founder of Haybol.ph, a real estate search engine powered by Google Maps and hosted on Google App Engine.

Gian Liwanag

Gian Carlo Liwanag is a Software Engineer at Pointwest Innovations Corp. He was certified as a Fundamental IT Engineer by the Philippine National IT Standards (PhilNITs). He graduated Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in the University of Baguio. He likes to sing and play musical instruments. In fact, he was a former bassist for the Baguio Community Rondalla.

Sunny Natividad

Sunny Natividad was appointed as the Team Leader of the first batch of apprentices under the apprenticeship program of the Center for Geographic Information Science back in 2012 where he was exposed in Geographic Information Systems. He is also one of the youth ambassadors who joined the Kizuna (Bond) Project held in Japan. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology major in Web Technology, an active member of Google Developer’s Group – Baguio and currently works as a freelance web developer.

Katherine Pe

Katherine Pe is a software developer focused on both web and mobile technologies.
She currently works for Assembla, Inc. as a Ruby on Rails & System Software Developer.
On her spare time, she develops web applications using Sinatra, Cuba and Express.js.
She's continuously studying mobile application development and does technical review of new and upcoming Ruby and mobile app development books for Packt Publishing. She has written about Ruby, JavaScript and Express.js on http://blog.bridgeutopiaweb.com

Josan Astrid Dometita

Josan Astrid Dometita is an HTML5 enthusiast and the GDG Community Manger for GDG Cagayan de Oro City. Having the interest in the complex ins and outs of computer technology made her earn her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, with a major in Software Engineering. While still in school, she started freelancing online as a web developer, and expanded her portfolio of skills to become a vector artist and motion graphics animator. She started working as a Multimedia Developer in Manila and with her friends, then built their own consulting company, Aestrea Software Development, where she is the Creative Director. She calls herself a DevDesigner, a hybrid name that could best describe her skill set, bridging the gap between both the design and development worlds.
