Gone were the days when Jelly Bean and KitKat were once thought of as sweets instead of Android operating systems. Not only those. Did you know that Dart, traditionally known as a kind of target game, could also refer to a web development framework by Google? In first-ever codelab held on February 15, 2015 at Berkeley School Baguio, GDG Baguio introduced Dart into the local developer community.
The participants, a mix of professionals, college and
high school students, became Dart Pilots and were introduced
to Dart, a new web programming language with libraries, a virtual
machine called Dart Virtual Machine, and tools. Dart helps developers build structured modern web
apps and compiles to JavaScript to run across the entire modern
web. (https://code.google.com/p/dart/)

The event commenced with an
introduction about Google Developer Group (GDG) Baguio by +Sunny Natividad,
our resident organizer and speaker. Dart and codelabs were then
introduced to the participants through videos and slides by +Reymart Canuel, GDG Baguio's Community Manager.
After all was said and done, the
codelabs began. Darrrt!
